THE DUTY OF PARENTS

                                             THE DUTY OF PARENTS

Children are the most precious gift of the Lord to the world.  All love children and like them very much.  Parents should take much care to children’s developments.  I would like to say a few worlds about the duties of parents here.

Character

At the time of birth, children have no idea and thinking capacity.  Everything they learn from their parents.  So, the parents should treat the children very carefully.

The first duty of parents is to build good characters to their children.  During childhood we can teach anything to children in an easy way.

Truthfulness, kindness, obedience and respect to elders etc are very good characters.  The parents should teach these types of characters to children through their activities and moral stories.  These characters create very good citizens in our society and country.  Character is the hall mark of a man.

“If the wealth is lost nothing is lost
If the health is lost something is lost
If the character is lost everything is lost”

Character building should be done with careful and sustained nurturing of right thought and conduct.  Children spent more time at home than in school.  Parents are the first teachers of the children.  They should try to spent more time with their children for overall development, children should be treated with love, affection and care.  But don’t curdle them, because only the test of fir makes fine steel.

Parents should try to be model to their children.  They must be punctual, gentle, simple, unassuming, honest, upright bold, active, patriotic and spiritual who could inspire such qualities to their children.

Education

The second duty is to educate the children in proper way.  Education makes a full man. At first select a good school for education.  Then get guidance from the best and model teachers.  The good school and model teachers will make your children all-rounders.  Parents should try to create a serene atmosphere at home that is fit for learning.  It is the duty of parents to teach their children the common etiquette.  All children are born innocent but they are made guilty or offensive by others such as elders, teachers, parents etc.

From the primary education to the higher education your personal care is essential for the development of your children.

Guidance:
After completion of the education parents should guide children to be good citizens. Necessary help and advice should be given to them for obtaining a good job and lead a peaceful happy family life.
